Clients taking on challenges

Three clients have taken on or are about to take on some fantastic events to raise money for brilliant charities.

London Marathon

Bernadette joined the SGPT community to help with her London Marathon preparation. Her training was fantastic and she ran the London Marathon in a very impressive 4 hours 26 minutes, with perfect splits of 2:13 1st half and 2:13 2nd half.

She was running "for Fraser my brother Sam's childhood and lifelong friend and his sister Chelsea and her family to raise money and awareness for Huntingdon' disease. They are truly an inspirational family. Their father Mick Higgins passed away from complications of the disease in 2015 and Fraser was sadly diagnosed in 2018. Huntingdon's disease is a rare, inherited disease that causes the progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the brain."

Race For Life

Andy is a regular at Group Classes and joining the world of running for Race For Life supporting Cancer Research UK.

"My Dad died of cancer in the early 90's, & since then other family members and friend's relatives have succumbed to the same dreaded C-word. This is my chance to provide a small contribution for the wonderful work being done to eradicate this terrible disease in all its forms & I would really appreciate your assistance in contributing to this (& be safe in the knowledge I'm moving my lard arse faster than a walk early on a Sunday morning 🤣). Many thanks xxx."

Cycling to Mablethorpe & back

Mark is a regular at Group Classes, loves a good bike ride and is helping Bens Den with a 100 mile bike ride from Ilkeston to Mablethorpe and back! Bens Den provide free holidays for families with children diagnosed with cancer and leukaemia.

No JustGiving Page to share but there is a sponsorship form in the gym if you would like to donate.

If you've got an event coming up let me know and I can help spread the word with your efforts out of the gym.

There's also some huge changes coming for Training Rewarded so keep your eyes peeled.
